Build a complete rig
Building from a recommended kit is faster and produces fewer surprises than choosing individual parts, because the combination has already been tested.
Choosing components one at a time means making several compatibility decisions at once and getting no help with any of them. A recommended kit is a set of parts already known to work together.
A sensible order to build in
- Start with the kit that matches your venue size
- Add cameras for the angles the show actually needs
- Add power and cabling for the number of cameras you have
- Add accessories last, once the gaps are obvious
Treat the first build as a rehearsal of the real one. Set it up in the venue, run the show, and note what you needed and did not. That list is a far better basis for the next purchase than a spec sheet.
