Keep firmware up to date
Firmware updates bring fixes and features to cameras you already own, and can be scheduled around a production calendar rather than done in a hurry.
Cameras in a production fleet are only as good as the software they are running. Updates address real problems, and deferring them for a whole season means living with known issues that have already been solved.
Why update
- Fixes for problems that affect live work
- New features added to the product you already have
- Improvements to image handling and performance
- Compatibility with current versions of the rest of the system
The important part is timing. An update takes a camera out of service for a short while, so it belongs in a scheduled maintenance window rather than in the week of a production.
